The Signatures That Changed the World

On August 2, 2026, the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of the Independence, Carrollton Hall will host an Open House. All are welcome to explore the first and second floors of the house and learn more about the connection between the Declaration, Charles Carroll of Carrollton - one of just four signers from Maryland and the only Catholic to sign the document - and the home's first owners, Emily and John McTavish.

Franciscan Friars Conventual

The Franciscan Friars Conventual have owned Carrollton Hall since 1928. Under their stewardship, the house has served as a novitiate, residence, and meeting space. In 2016, the friars began a restoration of Carrollton Hall that led to the house being opened to the public as an historic site for the first time.
