About Us

Carrollton Hall is an historic site encompassing the combined histories of four centuries of people living, working, and being displaced from the land. Starting with indigenous communities and continuing through its almost 100-year stewardship by the Franciscan Friars Conventual, we seek today to tell the whole story of the site. This includes the known history of the white families who claimed ownership of the land, as well as the omitted history of its marginalized inhabitants and their communities.

Motivated by our conviction that all people deserve the dignity of being seen and heard, we are committed to uplifting the histories of this site that have not been told before.

Stay in Touch

You’re invited to join in our efforts and stay connected as we continue to reveal seldom-heard stories of our site’s past. We hope you’ll follow along in our journey to facilitate justice and foster reconciliation and peace.

Franciscan Friars Conventual

The Franciscan Friars Conventual have owned Carrollton Hall since 1928. Under their stewardship, the house has served as a novitiate, residence, and meeting space. In 2016, the friars began a restoration of Carrollton Hall that led to the house being opened to the public as an historic site for the first time.
